Steven Kessler, CPA, CFP® is the Managing Principal of Chester Financial Group, LLC.  His functions include the design and implementation of tax, estate and financial planning engagements, as well as assembling the team of professionals with whom he consults on these engagements.
 
Steven’s experience covers a broad range of financial matters.  As a Certified Public Accountant, he has over 20 years of experience in providing creative, intelligent and supportable tax reduction strategies for businesses, their owners and high net worth individuals.  In addition, as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, he is able to provide comprehensive financial planning advice to his clients, including advice on investments and insurance.  Through the years, he has developed tax and financial planning strategies in business acquisitions and divestitures, structuring settlement agreements in matrimonial and business disputes, planning to reduce estate taxes, designing retirement plans for businesses and self-employed individuals, comprehensive financial plans for a broad range of individual clients, and preparing business, personal, estate and fiduciary tax returns.
 
Steven is an enthusiastic learner and is continually seeking to increase his knowledge and capability.  In addition to the significant continuing education required by his existing professional certifications, he is currently enrolled in the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) program offered by The American College.  This curriculum will help him to further enhance his expertise in the financial and estate planning arenas.
 
Steven is an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA).  He has been appointed to serve as chairman of several of the standing committees of the NJSCPA, as well as being elected to serve as a member of its Board of Trustees.  He has also held the office of Vice President on the Society’s Executive Committee.  He has presented lectures and seminars on various topics including tax law changes, retirement planning, estate planning, business strategies for professional practices and accounting systems for small businesses.
 
Steven’s passions are spending time with his family and cycling.  He lives in Randolph, NJ with his wife, Cheri, and their two children, Rikki and Ryan.
